New York City, Part IV

July 16, 2014

Somewhere within a three-day stint of rain and thunderstorms, we managed to perfectly time a trip to Liberty Island on an afternoon when there wasn't a raindrop in sight.  We couldn't have asked for better weather while on the island - and within the hour of returning to Manhattan, we were poured on while on our way to dinner. A well-spent afternoon to see Lady Liberty herself, in person.

She really is such a beauty. Well done, France. Well done, Frederic August Bartholdi.

We ate dinner at GOBO. Drool.

The next few days were quietly spent in the suburbs with Patricio's family. Two of his aunts and uncles flew in from Ontario and Michigan, and several of his distant relatives from New York and Ecuador came over for a barbecue.

On our last night there, the Fourth of July, we drove to a nearby village to watch fireworks in the harbour.

One more New York post to come! Thanks for reading so far.

  1. I love your blog! You take amazing photos! If you don't mind, may I ask what you use to edit your photos? Do you use any presets? I'm new to photography and trying to learn about editing. Thank you so much! xx

    1. Hey Crystal!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate it. I mostly use either Lightroom and the VSCOcam app (on my iPad) to edit images, and exclusively use VSCO presets and filters. I am fairly new to photography as well, but these tools have definitely helped me with the editing process.

      Good luck! And thanks again!
